Glitterati Welcome Von Dutch Kustom
Cycles to The Strip
For Immediate Release
A New High Roller Rumbles into the Las Vegas Strip
LAS VEGAS (April 18, 2005) – Grammy-collecting R&B
diva Mary J. Blige, rich-and-famous lifestyles raconteur Robin
Leach, and other celebrities, VIPs, and players put on their
black ties and rolled out the red carpet to welcome the sexiest
marquee in the world of two wheels to the hottest new spot in
the fabulous Forum Shops –- Exotic Cars at Caesar’s
Palace.
Von Dutch Kustom Cycles, the ultimate extension
of the hip line of “garage kouture” and accessories
sporting the name of the eccentric kustom kulture icon who
invented the art
of pin striping and flaming paint jobs a generation ago, pitched
the by-invitation party to celebrate the arrival of its low,
sexy scream-machines at Exotic Cars at Caesars Palace.
“Our motorcycles are absolutely the highest of the high-end
when it comes to design, assembly, and performance. I can’t
imagine anywhere better to showcase and sell our bikes than Exotic
Cars at Caesar’s Palace,” said Alex Mardikian, the
creative genius behind the nostalgia-themed, high-tech, American
v-twin choppers, bobbers, pro-street hot-rods, and cruisers that
VDKC builds at its Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., production shop.
Horsepower, luxury, and the art of motorsport
set the tone of the evening at Exotic Car’s 36,000-square-foot, two-tier
showroom. VDKC’s CruelWorld, Dutch Angel, Killer B, and
Lowbrow bikes took star turns with the Bentley Continental GT,
Porsche's new Carrera GT, the 625-horsepower Saleen S7, the 616-horsepower
Ferrari Enzo, and a classic 427 Shelby Cobra with only 9,000
original miles. Von Dutch also previewed a new bobber model the
Flying Dutchman to audiences.
In addition to celebrity mingling, the event featured an exotic
car and motorcycle auction to raise funds for the Lili Claire
Foundation of Santa Monica, Calif. Established in 1998 to honor
the memory of Lili Claire Resnick, the non-profit foundation
provides programs and support services for children living with
Williams Syndrome, Down Syndrome, Autism, and other neurogenic
disorders.
About Von Dutch Kustom Cycles
Von Dutch Kustom Cycles was formed in 2003
by longtime custom bike and powercraft designer Alex Mardikian.
The company makes
both production models and original, highly-stylized custom cruisers,
choppers and bobbers popular for their unorthodox, retro “Kustom
Kulture” designs, and sells through an exclusive network
of dealerships nationwide. Along with its motorcycles, Von Dutch
Kustom Cycles offers a selection of “greaser chic” and
hot rod motorclothes and one-of-a-kind accessories, such as custom
painted helmets. The company is headquartered in the Los Angeles
area and has 16 employees, including sheet metal fabricators,
master mechanics, engineers and artists. All VDKC creations carry
certificates of authenticity placed out of sight to the fuel
tank, the frame, the oil tank, and the rear fender. Visit Von
